A rich and creamy baked French toast casserole with cream cheese for a decadent breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
- 8 slices thick-cut bread
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cut bread into cubes and place half in a greased baking dish.
- Spread cream cheese evenly over bread.
- Top with remaining bread cubes.
- Whisk eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Pour mixture over bread, pressing down gently.
- Drizzle melted butter on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use day-old bread for better texture.
- Cover with foil if the top browns too quickly.
- Serve with extra maple syrup.
