Description
A refreshing and fruity sorbet made with fresh strawberries and aromatic basil. Perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until sugar dissolves to make a simple syrup. Let it cool.
- Blend strawberries, basil, and lemon juice in a blender until smooth.
- Strain the mixture to remove seeds if desired.
- Mix the strawberry puree with the cooled simple syrup.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, strain the strawberry puree before mixing with the syrup.
- Adjust sugar based on the sweetness of the strawberries.
- If you don’t have an ice cream maker, freeze the mixture and stir every 30 minutes for 3-4 hours.
