Description
A classic Russian dish with tender beef, mushrooms, and a rich sour cream sauce, served over noodles or rice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat butter and olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onions and mushrooms, sauté until softened.
- Add beef slices and cook until browned.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir.
- Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
- Serve hot over noodles or rice.
Notes
- Use tender cuts of beef for best results.
- Do not boil after adding sour cream to prevent curdling.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
