Ingredients

  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric


Instructions

  1. Combine cucumbers, onions, and salt in a large bowl. Cover with ice and let stand for 3 hours.
  2. Drain and rinse the cucumber mixture.
  3. In a large pot, combine vinegar, sugar, mustard seeds, celery seeds, and turmeric. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add the cucumber mixture and return to a boil.
  5. Pack the hot pickles into sterilized jars and seal.
