Description
A sweet and flaky pastry filled with creamy cheese and fresh blueberries, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Add cold water and mix until dough forms. Roll into a rectangle.
- Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over dough.
- Scatter blueberries evenly over cream cheese mixture.
- Cut diagonal strips along both sides of the dough. Fold strips over filling, alternating sides.
- Brush with egg wash. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
- Use cold butter for flaky pastry.
- Fresh blueberries work best, but frozen can be used if thawed and drained.
- Chill dough if it becomes too soft.
