Description
Delicious and easy to make cranberry orange scones with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cranberries and orange zest.
- In another bowl, whisk cream, egg, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and shape into a 1-inch thick circle. Cut into 8 wedges.
- Place scones on baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use cold butter for flaky scones.
- Do not overmix the dough.
- Brush with extra cream before baking for a golden top.
