Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 head garlic, roasted
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound ground sausage
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut the top off the garlic head, drizzle with oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 30 minutes.
- Boil potatoes until soft, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash.
- Squeeze roasted garlic into mashed potatoes. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy.
- Cook sausage in a pan over medium heat until browned. Stir in flour.
- Gradually add chicken broth while stirring. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Season gravy with thyme. Serve mashed potatoes topped with sausage gravy.
