Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef stew meat, cubed
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Layer half the potatoes, beef, and onions in the crockpot.
- Sprinkle half the cheese, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and thyme over the layers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Pour the heavy cream and beef broth over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a crispier top, broil for 2-3 minutes before serving.
- You can substitute the beef with chicken for a lighter version.
