Description
Delicious chocolate fudge pastry tarts inspired by pop tarts.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 1 cup chocolate fudge filling
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water gradually until dough forms.
- Divide dough into two equal parts and roll each into a rectangle.
- Spread chocolate fudge filling on one rectangle, leaving edges clean.
- Place the second dough rectangle on top and press edges to seal.
- Cut into smaller rectangles or desired shapes.
- Brush with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Cool and optionally drizzle with powdered sugar glaze.
Notes
- Keep butter cold for flaky pastry.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes if too sticky.
- Adjust sweetness by reducing sugar in filling.
