Description
A flavorful and hearty Mexican picadillo made with ground beef, potatoes, and a blend of spices. Perfect for tacos, burritos, or served over rice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium potato, diced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup sliced green olives
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and garlic, sauté until soft.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned.
- Stir in potatoes, tomatoes, raisins, olives, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in beef broth, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Uncover and cook for 5 more minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Serve warm with tortillas or rice.
Notes
- Adjust spice levels to taste.
- For a spicier version, add chopped jalapeños.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
