Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 oz whole wheat pasta
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and cook until softened.
- Add minced garlic and ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Cook until beef is browned.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, and black pepper.
- Add whole wheat pasta and beef broth.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for 10-12 minutes until pasta is tender.
- Season with salt if needed.
- Serve hot.
