Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup ground pistachios
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp rose water
- 1/4 tsp pink food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, ground pistachios, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Mix in milk, rose water, and food coloring (if using).
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Use finely ground pistachios for a smoother texture.
- Adjust rose water to taste; some brands are stronger than others.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
