Description

A delicious twist on classic chicken with a crispy pretzel crust and creamy mustard-cheddar sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Flatten chicken breasts to even thickness.
  3. Set up three bowls: flour in first, beaten eggs in second, crushed pretzels in third.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, then coat with pretzel crumbs.
  5. Heat olive oil in oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  8. For sauce: Melt butter in saucepan, whisk in mustard and milk.
  9. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  10. Serve chicken with warm sauce.
