Description
A tender brisket cooked to perfection with a rich homemade barbecue sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs beef brisket
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Season the brisket with salt and pepper.
- Place the brisket in a roasting pan.
- Mix ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl.
- Pour the sauce over the brisket.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 4 hours.
- Remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For extra tenderness, cook the brisket longer at a lower temperature.
- Adjust sugar and vinegar to balance sweetness and tanginess.
