Description

Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Mix flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl.
  2. Add warm water, melted butter, and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Press the dough into a greased deep dish pan, covering the bottom and sides.
  5. Layer mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the dough.
  6. Spread crushed tomatoes mixed with garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper over the cheese.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
